Online therapy, from the first hello onwards
Taking the first step is usually the hardest part. That is why the process here is simple and transparent, with no hidden stages.
-
First contact on WhatsApp
You message me, say in a few words what you are looking for (or simply that you want to know more, that is fine too) and ask your questions about fees, availability and how it all works. I answer personally, with no bot and no receptionist in between.
-
The first session
It is a meeting where we get to know each other. You talk about what brought you here, at your own pace, and I explain how I work. At the end, you decide whether to carry on. There is no minimum commitment: therapy only makes sense if it is your choice.
-
The sessions that follow
Individual sessions last 45 minutes, and couples sessions 50. They usually happen once a week, at a fixed time we agree between us. Consistency matters: it is what turns scattered conversations into a process.
-
Time zones
The booking calendar already converts my availability into your own time zone, so you never have to do the arithmetic. If we are in very distant ones, we agree on a slot that works for both of us before we start, so the schedule is never a weekly puzzle.
-
The video call
We use a simple, secure video platform, such as Google Meet. You do not need to install anything on your computer: you receive the link before the session and join with one click. I only recommend a private place and, if possible, headphones, for your own privacy and comfort.
-
Confidentiality
Everything you say in session is protected by professional confidentiality, as set out in the code of ethics that governs my registration as a psychologist (CRP 05/83313). Online practice is formally regulated and held to the same ethical standards as work done in a room.
One important note
Online therapy is meant for ongoing psychological support. It does not replace emergency care.
If you are in crisis, in very intense distress or thinking about taking your own life, do not wait for a session. Call your local emergency number, or find a crisis line in your country at findahelpline.com. If you are in Brazil, CVV answers 24 hours a day, free of charge, on 188 and by chat at cvv.org.br.
